The Innovair Group comprises four business, including Innovair Industrial, the largest independent distributor of compressed gas and welding supplies in Canada, Innovair Medical, distributor of medical devices and related products and services across Canada, and Innovair Automation. Hear why this successful seventy-year-old company felt the need to develop an operational excellence strategy, with a focus on employee engagement. Learn about the Lean journey, the successes, the failures and the learnings along the way.

Grant Cockshott, President/Owner

Grant Cockshott is President and owner of the Innovair Group, a third-generation family business with head office located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce Grant continues his study through Harvard Business School, where he attends annual Executive Education programs. Grants passion is family business, with a focus on human performance as it relates to strategic planning and execution. He is trained in the Balance Scorecard strategic planning process and Innovation Engineering, and applies these principles actively in his business.

Neil Addison, Accounting Manager & Lean Sensei

Neil (Sensei) Addison has been the Accounting Manager at the Innovair Group for the past 31 years. When the company started its Lean journey six years ago, Neil grasped the opportunity to drive change within the organization as one of a team of people. He took Lean Yellowbelt and Lean Greenbelt certification training with CME in Manitoba and soon after Lean Black Belt certification training with Lean Sensei International in Vancouver. Neil is currently the Lean Champion of continuous improvement at the Innovair Group, leading operational excellence initiatives in pursuit of a vision of becoming a five-star Lean organization.
