Safety and Continuous Improvement Culture Development

Keeping our teams safe while improving our processes

Organizations are legislated to have a safety program, but not a process improvement program.  Creating an environment where safety is the culture is tough. Engaging employees to look for waste in processes is even more difficult. In this workshop you will learn how to build a safe work culture that also looks for improvement opportunities every day, everywhere; how to drive ownership back to employees for safe work habits and improvement activities; how to utilize safety walks and Gemba walks to engage employees in discussions on improvement activities; how to add ergonomics discussions into value stream mapping and how to leverage basic LEAN tools such as 5S and poka yoke (mistake proofing).

THE 3P EXPERIENCE

RADICAL IMPROVEMENT, REAL RESULTS

The 3P (Production, Preparation, Process) method allows cross-functional teams to conceptualize, develop, validate, and deploy radical improvement in product and process design. In contrast to incremental “kaizen” efforts that modify an existing process, 3P starts from a clean development slate and entails the rapid design of production processes that can help organizations meet business and customer requirements. The results can drive huge competitive advantage, and apply in a variety of areas – from supply chain and value stream design to facilities and services.

In this workshop, attendees experience a 3P project through an interactive, case study-based learning approach. Ultimately, attendees will gain an understanding of 3P thinking and techniques, opening new avenues for ratcheting up the level of intellectual value embedded in their future product and process designs.
